12 men emerged from a year ravaged by pandemic longing for hope on the horizon. We entered 2021 worse for the wear, with larger guts due to closed gyms and alcohol, grayer heads from the stress of isolation and golf swings that resemble unfolded lawn chairs. It took a year of isolation and a pining for the comradery that had been missing for these 12 men to begin to whisper of an idea previously confined to dreams. What could possibly motivate and drive these men out of reclusion and into the light? We set out of this darkness on a mission to create a yearly battle that would fulfill these God-given desires for competition, brotherhood and revelry. From the ashes rose the Shindy. A yearly golf battle that pits friend against friend, brother against brother, and spans these vast United States. The Shindy is held yearly in this very vein, setting aside friendships and relations for a 3 day competition for pride, honor & most importantly, the trophy…once the melee is settled and victors crowned, the cup of brotherhood runneth over yet again, typically filled & frequently refilled with cold, cold Coors Light.
